Answer by Kevin k
Here in the USA, a judge can expunge your record after your sentence is served or you win an appeal. Usually there is a required time period before the courts will consider expunging a record.

Contact the bailiff’s office of the judge who tried the case or your attorney. They will be able to tell you what is required if the record can be expunged.

However, the chance that they would consider expunging a drug trafficking charge is very, very slim.

Ghost Adventures S02E06 Eastern State Penitentiary

April 28th, 2012 by Andreas from Xavier Media

Considered to be one of the most haunted locations in the world, Eastern State Penitentiary first opened its doors in 1829. The prison was designed to hold 253 prisoners, each occupying a solitary confinement cell for their entire sentence. The harshest punishment, solitary confinement was meant to help criminals find penance, remorse and salvation. In reality, it drove many prisoners insane. Before the opening of Eastern State, prisons were nothing more than holding pens for the unwanted and corrupt; men, women and children were housed alongside petty criminals and violent killers. In the late 18th century, The Philadelphia Society for Alleviating the Miseries of Public Prisons, led by founding father Benjamin Franklin, worked to transform these wasted prisons into facilities that fostered reform. Their ideas became tangible in 1822 when construction began on Eastern State. It was an expensive undertaking to bring the groundbreaking design to fruition. It featured vaulted ceilings and skylights to let in “God’s light” and each cell was equipped with a toilet, running water, heat and a Bible. After its completion, more than 300 prisons all over the world copied its designs, systems and practices. Isolation was impressed upon prisoners even when they left their cells for work detail. Each inmate wore heavy masks that prohibited communication with one another. The loneliness and isolation was oppressing; too much for some prisoners to bear, many took their own lives at

Eastern State Penitentiary is a nearly 200 year old prison which operated out of Philadelphia beginning in 1829. It had come to be more-or-less unused following its closure in 1971, and until the mid-1980′s it sat decaying amid the city that had come to flourish around it. What makes this place so intriguing to us though, is what happened after the city purchased the jail from the state in 1980… Instead of the all-too-common chain of events which typically end in the razing of old buildings in lieu of modern ones, the Eastern State Penitentiary Task Force (formed by a group of archaeologists, historians, and preservationists when the facility was purchased by the city), mayor Wilson Goode, and the city of Philadelphia saw the importance in preserving this place for future generations to see, walk through, and learn from. They were able to perceive the beauty of what they had in front of them, and grasp the potential that lie just beneath the plant life and and decade-plus of neglect. Instead of taking what would have surely been the much easier (and more common) road of commercial redevelopment, they decide to create a facility which will benefit the public on an educational level, and stand as a leading example of what can become of a place if enough people care about the history which it holds. Today Eastern State Penitentiary is open to the public on a daily basis. For a nominal fee of admittance one can wander the grounds at their leisure. To walk these tall echoing
